Overview of Role
AQUITY Innovations NPC has been appointed by the National Department of Health to serve as one of the GLOBAL FUND TB Sub-Recipients (SRs) in South Africa. The project activities are implemented in Mpumalanga (Ehlanzeni district) and Eastern Cape provinces. (Buffalo City Metro and Amathole District) whilst the head office positions will be based in Pretoria.
As such we seek to employ a HR Administrator (Payroll) (*1) for the Head Office in Pretoria:
Monthly CTC: R 35 180.92
Contract End Date: 31 March 2028
About the role
The HR Administrator (Payroll) is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, payroll records, statutory submissions, and reconciliation of payroll to the general ledger.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee and payroll records in electronic and paper files, and ensure they agree with the employee register.
- Add new employees to the monthly payroll using approved salaries, benefit contributions, and other applicable rates.
- Process staff deductions and repayments, and manage benefit enrolments, changes, and terminations with providers.
- Process payroll by the required deadline to allow for internal review, and distribute payslips on time.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger each month and prepare a complete monthly payroll file for audit.
- Ensure compliance with applicable South African payroll requirements and AQUITY’s remuneration and benefits policies.
- Prepare and submit statutory payroll returns and payments, including PAYE and UIF, as well as applicable Workmen’s Compensation and Statistics South Africa submissions.
- Complete periodic reconciliations and annual tax submissions, retain proof of submission to SARS, and distribute IRP5 certificates to staff.
- Provide administrative support to the HR and Finance departments and perform other finance duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting. Completed articles of clerkship will be an advantage.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Experience
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role, including at least three years’ experience with Pastel or VIP Payroll.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
