Overview of Role

Programme and Vacancy overview:

AQUITY Innovations NPC has been appointed by the National Department of Health to serve as one of the GLOBAL FUND TB Sub-Recipients (SRs) in South Africa. The project activities are implemented in Mpumalanga (Ehlanzeni district) and Eastern Cape province (Buffalo City Metro and Amathole districts).

As such we seek to employ the following:

Enrolled Nurse (*1) (CTC R 23 873.62) - Mpumalanga- Ehlanzeni District

Contract End Date: 31 March 2028

Responsibilities

The Enrolled Nurse will work in a health facility to link patients to care, conduct counselling and support, contact screening, retention in care and access to new treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct active TB case finding in health facilities and different departments in hospitals.
  • Linkage to care and adherence support
  • Referrals of clients
  • Education
  • Assist with accurate completion of clinical documents and registers
  • Educate clients on infection prevention control standards


Qualification

  • Grade 12 with 2 Years certification as enrolled nurse
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse


Experience

  • Experience in TB case management
  • Previous exposure within a primary health care environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate (oral and written communication) in English and a local language
